"You know what I fancy watching?" the boy just said to me, "Bridesmaids!"
If you haven't been to see Bridesmaids yet, go. Go now. Stop reading this, turn off your computer and hot foot it down to the cinema.
Why is it so good? You ask. Well, let me tell you. Some are calling the film groundbreaking or pioneering in that it's written by *gasp* girls! Although why this should be a barrier to it being good is beyond me. Many are hailing it as a female equivalent of The Hangover but to me it's better. The Hangover is hilarious, yes, but the relationships in it are a little one dimensional. Bridesmaids offers a realistic look at the dynamics between any group of women, especially one that's been thrown together around such a highly charged event as a wedding. Despite snorting my way through the majority of the film (attractive), the highlight for me was the scene at the bridal shower when all the tensions came to the surface. That and the ending, which obviously I won't tell you anything about except to say you will have the song from it stuck in your head for a week!
